Why is fitness important?

We all know that a healthy body is important. But why? The answer to that question is simple: fitness allows us to live longer, healthier lives. Here are some ways in which fitness positively impacts your health and well-being:

Muscles are what enable us to move around and do the things we need to do on a daily basis (e.g., walking). They also help us maintain balance, posture and even our emotions. When we exercise our muscles they become stronger over time—which means that your body will function better overall because of this strength!


Protect bone health.


You don't have to be old to suffer from osteoporosis and the bone-weakening disease can affect anyone. Exercise has been shown to help build strong bones and reduce the risk of falls, which can lead to broken bones. For example, walking is an easy and effective way to begin building bone strength while reducing your risk of falls!


Improve mental health and mood.


It's not just physical health that can benefit from exercise. Exercise helps boost mental health, too.


Physical activity has been found to help relieve stress and improve mood. It's also been shown to be useful in treating depression and anxiety disorders, as well as being a way for people with schizophrenia to manage symptoms such as hallucinations or delusions.


Cautions


You should make sure to not overuse your muscles. If you do, they will become fatigued and that could lead to injury. If this happens, take a rest day or two and then get back at it. You should also consider massaging your muscles with a fascial massager if they are sore or tender after exercise. It’s not always necessary but can help avoid problems down the line if done properly by an experienced professional.


In short, physical activity is an important part of your overall health. It can help you live longer, have more energy and feel better about yourself.
